The report details that despite attacks and discontinuation of government funding, Golden Dawn charities are still in action: “New Food Distribution From Golden Dawn without state funding- 15,000 people lined up to receive bags of food in Athens and Thessaloniki. Without government funding, the Golden Dawn was expected to put a “brake” on its food distributions in Athens, Thessaloniki, and other cities.
“Anyone who spent last Saturday outside the offices of the local organization in Larissa Station, Athens, would have thought this was an election rally with people bussed in from all over Greece.
Seeing the hundreds of bags of food on the sidewalks quickly makes clear that this was another food distribution. Simultanously, there was one happening in Thessaloniki. The central avenue of Diligiannis closed early in the afternoon due to 8,000 Athenians who waited patiently to receive a few bags of food as a little hope of life for their family. According to information about the other event, in terms of numbers, the same number came to the offices of the Golden Dawn in Thessaloniki.”
