Following in the footsteps of Greece’s communist party “KKE”, Syriza’s newspaper division is now reporting financial problems. Despite the party taking a huge amount of state funding, and it’s key members receiving salaries of around $15,000 per month, it’s newspaper workers will be subject to a 20% reduction in labor costs and possibly some layoffs.
Apparently it has been reported that the newspaper has trouble maintaining a financial balance sheet. The financial mismanagement and “capitalistic” style remedy to the problem speak volumes. How can a party that professes to oppose capitalism conduct it’s affairs in such a way?
For non-Greeks reading this, one must realize that the level of hypocrisy and blatant lying in Greece has become so widespread that it becomes surreal. Labels that leftist parties in the country use, are not only false when they speak of Golden Dawn, but also when they speak about themselves. How can a party that cannot even financially manage its very own newspaper division, manage the finances of the entire country with success? These are questions in Greece that you are not supposed to ask.
Syriza is a party that avoids answering these questions. They avoid explaining to people how they intend to save the Greek economy or preserve the previous standard of living that PASOK was able to provide using cheap credit. Time will continue to expose their true purpose and intentions piece by piece.
