Read the full exclusive interview of the Leader of Golden Dawn, Nikolaos Michaloliakos, from the Greek newspaper “Akropolis” Sunday edition February 8th 2015.
Akropolis: Mr. President there is now a new government in the country. The 16 votes of the Golden Dawn with which you refused to vote for President of Republic that was proposed by the former coalition government, essentially led to the fall of Samaras. Are you satisfied about it and how do you face the new coalition government?
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: Our country has been redeemed and relieved from the ethnocide of the coalition government Samaras-Venizelos. Golden Dawn is proud to have contributed decisively to this development. We refused to answer to the bribery into the basements of Megaron Maximos Mansion in exchange for our freedom. Those who did it, either because they lacked the courage or because they had other “motivations”, are now with their families after voting for Stavros Dimas. We will all be judged by history and God. The country was relieved from the parliamentary dictators of Samaras and Venizelos but must be relieved from the memorandum as well. Every day the Greeks drown and the citizens become poorest without mercy. If SYRIZA rids our country of the Memorandum, it is obvious that we will applaud. But I must tell you that I do not see SYRIZA having this intention. Quite the contrary. But as the coalition government exists just for a few days I shall not say more.
Akropolis: Despite the fact that the Greek people’s mandate is still fresh, which ranked you after the European elections again as the third political force of the country, you remain imprisoned, without mention of a trial date as of yet. How do you judge it?
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: The restoration of the institutions in our country is what first needs to be done. The justice, the functioning of parliament and the fairness towards the expression of the Greek people must be restored. But do you see any difference in the way the new government treats us? We are alone against all. We know this way and we have been marching for 30 years. They despise the 400.000 Greeks who with their vote asked to put an end to the greatest political conspiracy that has been committed against a legal and democratically elected party in Europe. They refused once again to give us the vice president position in the Greek Parliament that we deserve. All media continue in a dictatorial manner the exclusion of the Golden Dawn from any public discussion. They only have time to curse us coarsely, without end.
Akropolis: You are aware of the decree that refers for you to go to trial. Now, the trial, as also requested, will be held. Are you ready?
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: We are ready to prove our innocence and crush the indictment that was founded by a group of perjurers under the command of the former Prime Minister and 2-3 of his Ministers. But what trial do they intend to do? We ask from the very first moment to be media coverage to learn throughout Europe finally if we are criminals or political prisoners. Will they do so? We ask to be cross-examination in the court for the false witnesses who paraded from the back door of the investigative offices and told falsehoods against us which would make screenwriters jealous. Will they do so? I trust the vast majority of Greek judges. The fact that there was Dogiakos and Klapa doesn’t mean that all justice pages are so gloomy.
Akropolis: How do you judge the disagreement of the judges for your non-reference as a criminal organization?
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: That’s what I mentioned before. An honorable judge, who as I read in the newspapers belongs to the so-called progressives, respecting his scientific expertise, he assures without any doubt that there is not any criminal organization. Did I make him say this? He was imposed by the legal education and the consciousness of a judge that has sworn to dispense justice. They assaulted him! They leaked his proposal before even the decisions of the council to push him change it. I know very well that appointments were made between a close associate of former Minister of Justice, a friendly person, to dissuade him. You also wrote that. But he respected his vow and did his duty. This is the majority of Greek judges. The judges who will judge us have not been raffled off. The date is not even determined. You will be there, we will be there and will see all of it.
Akropolis: You had directly accused the former Minister of Justice, Babis Athanasiou, that he orchestrated with phone calls to judges the conspiracy against you. Back then when he was omnipotent. Do you think that there are still “remains” in the justice system that were “fed” in his corner?
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: Of course! The elections took place 10 days ago, what happened to his minions? Did they die? Of course not. I would like to believe that no one will dare to influence the judges who will be raffled off. I would like to believe that first of all they will not allow it and that the new Minister of Justice will not act in the same way as did the former one frightening and scaring the judges.
Akropolis: Allow me to ask you about the looming change of the government with our lenders. What is your position?
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: First of all the Memorandum-hellhole for the Greek people must end for our homeland. It is obvious that the treatment of our usurious lenders cannot be done without laughing. Strong geo-strategic alliances are required to ensure the security and the self-confidence for our country for the next moves. Do not be fooled by the so-called half-hearted statements of support made by the Americans. They constantly change their mind. A national plan is needed. It is obvious that it is not their intention to implement it when the 3rd political force of the country is behind bars. The Minister of Finance, Mr. Varoufakis, went to Schäuble supposedly to negotiate and his concern was to say that they should pity him, otherwise Golden Dawn will come. He even called our 400.000 voters Nazis. They do not care about saving our Homeland but only not to be ruled by the Golden Dawn. So they shall know that this will happen soon enough.
Akropolis: Mr. President thank you very much for this interview. The newspaper “Akropolis” has been and will be hospitable for your statements.
Nikolaos Michaloliakos: It is the only newspaper that does so and I will never forget it. Especially, you are one of the few journalists, without selfishness, who stood by our side when all kept their silence or were scared. I know very well how much this has cost you. You should know that I’m neither ungrateful nor unfriendly. All our MPs and all our members who recognize your honest struggle, send to you their sincere greetings.
